Roz Chandler
Flower Farmer, Mentor, Business Strategist
Roz has always been drawn to the outdoors. Her journey began with a BSc in Environmental Science, where she researched the sustainability of flower farming. And in 2012, she founded Field Gate Flowers — you can also follow her on @fieldgateflowers on Instagram. With over 30 years in marketing and sales, Roz uniquely combines business acumen with hands-on flower farming expertise, making her one of the few globally to do so.
Field Gate Flowers is a thriving 5-acre flower farm in Lathbury, Milton Keynes. Committed to organic and sustainable practices, Roz and her team use biological and cultural controls, promote sustainable floral mechanics, and advocate for British-grown flowers. The business has worked on over 500 weddings and many thousands of farewell blooms.
Her expertise extends beyond the field: having built a successful digital marketing agency and served as a Non-Executive Director in UK agriculture, Roz knows how to turn a passion into a profitable and sustainable business.
Roz is also currently a trustee of the WFGA (Working for Gardeners’ Association). The WFGA, at that time known as the Women in Gardening Association, was founded in 1899 by women concerned about the lack of education and employment opportunities for women working on the land.
Roz’s dream is simple: to empower more people to be sustainable in their flowery creations. Over many cups of tea with her now-business-partner Carol, the British School of Sustainable Floristry was launched.

Carol Peacock is an award-winning floral designer, educator and passionate advocate for seasonal, sustainable floristry. With over 18 years of industry experience, she has developed a distinctive natural style inspired by movement, texture and the changing seasons.
As the founder of Peacock & Wild, Carol combines her love of flowers with a passion for teaching, helping florists build confidence, refine their techniques and develop their own creative style. Her workshops encourage curiosity and experimentation while always respecting the beauty of the natural world.
Carol believes that sustainable floristry is about more than avoiding floral foam — it’s about thoughtful design, understanding seasonal materials and creating work that sits harmoniously within nature. She enjoys growing many of her own flowers and is committed to championing British-grown blooms wherever possible.
Alongside her teaching, Carol is an accomplished competition florist. She is a finalist in the British Florist Association UK Florist of the Year 2026 and has exhibited with the Royal Horticultural Society, showcasing her work at RHS Wentworth Woodhouse and returning to exhibit at RHS Sandringham Flower Show in 2026.
Whether demonstrating, mentoring or teaching hands-on workshops, Carol’s warm and encouraging approach helps students feel supported while challenging them to think differently and grow in confidence.
